A.A. Milne Pooh Bear Accessories Patterns

After Winnie the Pooh's search for something sweet last week, I sat down to write out his accessory patterns for you.

When faced with blustery weather, a scarf to keep warm is essential on a search for hunny. Below you will find the free pattern, as well as a link to a printable pdf in my Etsy shop:

If you decide to make this wonderful bear with a head full of fluff, please leave a comment! I'd love to hear about your journey into the 100 Acre Wood.

Items needed:

  • C Hook (2.75mm)

  • Cotton yam, #4 worsted weight, in red, tan, white and light yellow

  • Black embroidery thread

  • Scissors

  • Darning needle for assembly

Gauge: Gauge is not critical for this project, just be mindful that a different size hook or yarn will affect the size of the finished product.

Abbreviations Used:

  • MC- magic circle

  • SC- single crochet

  • HDC- half double crochet

  • Sl St- slip stitch

  • Ch- chain

  • St- stitch

  • Rnd- round of stitches

Pattern Notes

  • Stitch counts for the end of each round or row will be at the end of each rnd-row instructions in parenthesis ( )

For Scarf:

Starting in 2nd ch from hook, HDC 17, ch 2, skip 2 sts, HDC in next st to end of rnd (70)

FO, cut 8 2-inch strands of yarn, loop four strands through each end of hook, knotting to secure.

Loop long end of scarf around Pooh's neck and through the hole in the scarf created by skipping stitches. Center over his shoulder.

For Hunny Pot:

With tan yarn

Rnd 1: MC with sc 6 (6)

Rnd 4: *Sc in next 2 sts, inc in next st, repeat from * to end of rnd (24)

Rnd 5: In BLO, sc in each st of rnd (24)

Before next rnd, trace bottom of hunny pot onto a plastic lid (from a sour cream, cottage cheese, or yogurt tub works well). Cut out and place in the bottom of the hunny pot, this will help it keep its shape when stuffed.

Rnds 6-11: Sc in each st of rnd (24)

Rnd 12: In BLO,* sc 2, inv. dec. in next st, repeat from * to end of rnd(18)

Rnd 13: *Sc 3, inv. dec. in next st, repeat from * to last 3 sts of rnd, sc in last 3 sts (15)

FO, weave in yarn end, stuff hunny pot well.

Row 2-3: Sc 10, ch 1, turn. At the end of row 3, FO (10) Leave long tail for sewing onto pot.

With black embroidery thread (all 6 strands) embroider "HUNNY" in simple block letters.

For Jar Top with hunny drips:

With light yellow yarn-

Rnd 1: MC, sc 7 (7)

Rnd 2: Inc in all sts (14)

Rnd 3: Sc in all sts (14)

Rnd 4: Sl St 3, ch 8, sl st in 2nd chain from hook to end of ch (* Repeat these instructions for each ch of varying length); sl st to st at base of ch 8, sl st in next 4 sts of rnd, ch 4 (see * above) ; sl st in next 5 sts of rnd, ch 10 (see * above); sl st in remaining sts of rnd. FO with long tail for sewing to jar and securing drips.

Sew Hunny label onto jar before sewing on the top, then pin top in place being careful not to obscure label with hunny drips

Sew lid on carefully, tacking down the length of each drip with small stitches, at the end of each drip, insert needle into pot at an angle to bring needle out at next st of lid:

When finished, FO, weaving tail end back into hunny pot and trimming close.

I hope you enjoy making these fun accessories for your A.A. Milne inspired Pooh Bear! Please feel free to share pictures of your finished projects or leave any questions in comments or shoot me an email- I'd love to hear from you!

Drinking coffee and spreading shenanigans,
